Diversified financial group issues cybersecurity alert

Institutions, governments, and individuals urged to be vigilant

Macquarie Bank has issued a security and fraud alert, urging its clients and the public to be vigilant against potential scams and cyberattacks.

The bank has detected an increase in fraudulent activities targeting its customers, including phishing emails, phone calls, and text messages. These scams often attempt to trick individuals into providing their personal information, such as passwords, account numbers, or credit card details.

To protect against these threats, Macquarie Bank recommends that its clients take the following precautions:

  • Be wary of unsolicited emails, phone calls, or text messages requesting personal information.
  • Never click on links or open attachments in suspicious emails or messages.
  • Use strong passwords and change them regularly.
  • Enable two-factor authentication on all financial accounts.
  • Monitor your financial accounts regularly for any unauthorized activity.

Macquarie Bank also encourages its clients to report any suspicious activity to the bank immediately. The bank has set up a dedicated hotline for this purpose: 1800 999 340.
