Four Teams Secure Final Spots
IBC Basketball World Cup Determines Qualification
The qualification process for the 2024 Olympic Games basketball tournament has been determined, with the FIBA Basketball World Cup serving as the primary means of qualifying. The top four teams from the World Cup will earn automatic berths to the Olympics.
In addition to the World Cup, four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments will be held to determine the remaining spots. Twenty-four national teams will compete in these tournaments, with the top four teams from each tournament advancing to the Olympics.
The Olympic Qualifying Tournaments are scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 7, 2024. The locations of the tournaments have not yet been determined.
Once the qualifying process is complete, the 12 teams that will compete in the 2024 Olympic Basketball Tournament will be known. The tournament will be held in Paris, France, from August 2 to August 10, 2024.
